The pycar app

pycar has no account. Your photos, videos and vehicle information are stored only on your phone.

Image analysis (cutout, panel recognition, plate and VIN reading) runs entirely on the device: your photos are not sent to our servers or to any third party.

Photos leave your phone only when you share or export them yourself. Licence plates can be masked automatically before sharing.

The 360° camera (RICOH THETA) is controlled over its own local Wi-Fi network; no data goes through the Internet.

Optional: if you configure your own receiving server in the app (pycar API), the photos and the vehicle file are sent directly from your phone to that server over HTTPS. Your login and password are stored in the phone’s secure keychain. pycar never receives them.

pycar does not use your location and contains no advertising, analytics or tracking.

This website

No cookies, no analytics, no advertising. Your language choice is stored only in your browser.

Like any web server, our host records technical data (IP address, date, page requested) for security, kept for a limited time.

Contact form

When you write to us, we receive your name, e-mail address, company, message and IP address. We use them only to answer you and to fight spam, and keep them at most 3 years after our last exchange.

To limit abuse, a fingerprint of your IP address is kept for one hour.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use, through the contact form. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).
